Weekending -Opening Day

This weekend was full and fun. There is no greater feeling then waking up on a Saturday with my little family knowing that we have the whole weekend ahead of us to spend together. Friday night we got a date night in. We of course went to our spot, a local bar that has a great atmosphere with the best bloody marys ever. This weekend was opening day for the little league our boys play in. Our church makes a big deal about it. There are vendor booths..food booths..bake sale...etc. They introduce all of the teams in a little parade. They perform the National Anthem then say a prayer and do a ceremonial first pitch. Then all the teams scrimmage. It is a full day affair. We got rained on for a little bit but nothing too bad.

My oldest dude started coach pitch this year. He has done a few years of tball and it was time to move up. I was nervous ...a new stage... playing with the big kids now. He did good though and held his own. Of course in my eyes he looks so itty bitty on the big field...I can't believe how fast its all going.

My second little dude started tball. It is his very first time playing it. I was/am nervous for him. He like faster paced sports where there is not much waiting around. In his first game there were some moments of getting impatient while waiting but he did good. The very first time he went to bat, we all cheered loudly...he lifted his hands up and said "thank you, thank you". He loves having an audience.

Then in the evening all the parents get together and do a parent softball game against each other. Hubby participated and had a great time.

The rest of the weekend was our normal routines. Church, errands, relaxing...

And as usual Monday comes too soon. A new week is here. But instead of dreading it I *try* to look it at it like this... the weekend is for filling my tank up to power through the week... so we make sure to enjoy the weekend to its fullest  <3
