Weekending: Road Trip!

This past weekend was a whirlwind and lots of fun!

Saturday morning oldest dude had a baseball game so we loaded up bright and early. After the game we got on the road. No Texas road trip can be done without a stop here.

We headed north to the DFW area. We got in late afternoon and immediately started enjoying the pool.

The next day we woke up and headed to Mass. We chose a nearby church for Mass. It is always so interesting seeing other parishes. This particular church was so modern and beautiful.

When we left it was pouring rain even though our trusted weather app said no rain in the forecast...insert eye roll... but it subsided thankfully so we continued on with our plans. We made the drive out to the Fort Worth Zoo. This zoo is one of my favorite zoos ever. There is so much to do. Lots of shade. And it is huge! We went a few years back when the older two were much smaller. Last year they added a huge splash pad area for kids. It includes actual water slides and lots of sprayers and water features. We spent the entire day and had a blast.

This dude napped on and off but did so good just being carried around. Seriously the Ergo is a life saver!
Oldest dudes favorite animal is the penguin. He was super excited because our zoo doesn't have any.

This thing is scary!

After we left we popped into a tex mex place for a chips and salsa fix and they had the most delicious frozen sangria!

The rest of the trip we did a little shopping and looking around the area. We ventured out to the new Dallas Cowboys training facility. It is unreal. We let the boys run around and play for bit. There were lots more swimming too.

isn't this dog gorgeous? I loved him! You  can see him in the pool picture too!

On one of the evenings, oldest dude and daddy had a date at the baseball game. See we our die hard Dodger fans but a few years ago, oldest dude said he wanted to be a Ranger fan. He wanted to support a Texas team. So he has been a fan ever since! I think its pretty cool that he did that but lets hope he doesn't chose to do that with the Spurs. ;) So as an ending to his baseball season and school year they went out to celebrate.
They sat on the third base side. Even though he was decked out in Rangers gear a player from the other team tossed him a game ball. Dude was thrilled!

On the drive home we made a quick stop in Waco to check out Magnolia. It was so awesome. Everything I imagined. I could have stayed there all day!

We made it home happy but tired. It was a happy Memorial weekend in deed. We are so grateful for the men and women who serve and protect our country. We thank the men and women and their families who have given the ultimate sacrifice so that we may enjoy the freedom and the beauty that this country offers. Even in these crazy political times I am very proud to be an American.
