Night and day

Many people comment on how my two boys look so much alike. Strangers, family, and friends all have said it. We even have pictures of comparisons and they really do look so much alike. In the far future if we don't have certain pictures dated or noted we might not be able to identify who is who in the picture. But aside from physical looks they could not be more different.

It all started with labor. My oldest took his sweet time coming out and it was a pretty difficult process. My youngest scared us and almost came too early and then when it was finally time he came right on out. Their nursing styles are different. Oldest would have marathon nursing sessions that would last forever. Youngest nurses short and frequently.

Their sleeping styles are different. Oldest falls asleep later in the evening but also wakes up pretty late in the morning too. The youngest is asleep by 8 but ready and roaring by 7 or even earlier. Oldest hated swaddling and refused all pacifiers. Youngest took to a pacifier right away and loved to be swaddled. He is no longer swaddled but still loves to cuddle with a big blanket. We can not keep a blanket on the oldest no matter how cold.

The oldest had a low whiny cry as a baby. He never cried a whole bunch and was super laid back. The youngest is a crier and a screamer and very dramatic in everything he does. The oldest has always loved the water, the youngest so far has screamed and cried at the touch of water. He is okay with baths now but we recently attempted a water park and I ended up sitting on the sidelines with him.

Lots of differences so far but their are some similarities too...they have both been great nursers and had rapid weight gain because of it. They are both very vocal and animated in how they communicate. And of course they both have me wrapped around their little fingers. Different or alike they hold my heart and I look forward to the little men they turn out to be.
