A Day Out

I wanted to share a recent day out we had as a  family. In the city we live in there are many places on the outskirts of the city with lots of things to do with the kiddos. So on hubby's days off we go exploring for new things to do.

We went to a park in one of the small outer cities. It is a large beautiful park that has the river running through. Back before we had children the hubby and I used to go tubing down the river with an ice chest of beer and friends. Now our scene is a little different. This park has a public swimming pool with a small toddler pool to the side in addition to the river and a spring fed lake. The toddler loved it. The baby? Well we are still working on getting him to like the water.

It also had a train to ride as a family. Little man gets a kick out of these things.

Little man got to ring the bell after the ride
Then at the suggestion of my mother in law we went on a glass bottom boat tour that was a short drive from park. I was hesitant at first but it ended up being pretty neat and the tour guide told awesome stories.
This is at an aquarium while we waited for the tour. These are salamanders

Best thing of all with these activities? Very inexpensive!

We continued on and had lunch at the hubby's favorite wing place.

We ended the day with some shopping at the outlet mall. By this time the kiddos were exhausted so they napped while we shopped!

Thanks for reading!
